You follow the u-turn sign. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This means: ⁣⁣
You have identified that you have enjoyed that Thanksgiving foods and want to save more to enjoy tomorrow, so you put the rest away. Or you know that you can have Thanksgiving dishes throughout the year, so you don’t have to finish the rest. ⁣⁣

Follow the wrong way sign until you crash. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
What does this mean: ⁣⁣
You may say “I messed up already so I’ll just eat whatever I want, I can just start fresh tomorrow/Monday/ new month/new year.”⁣⁣
Or “I am so full but I’ll just finish the rest of the Thanksgiving food because I messed up already and won’t have Thanksgiving for a whole year.” ⁣⁣

The wrong way sign will leave you to crash from: ⁣⁣
A) mental crash beating yourself up and going down a negative spiral⁣⁣
B) physical crash engorging yourself to feel uncomfortably full. ⁣⁣

I was going for more of an apple crumb pie from @hummusapien and totally messed up the pie crust. So I just turned it into a massive apple crumb and included the pie crust into the crumb. ⁣
⁣
End result did not disappoint! ⁣

⁣
There have been many times I have failed trying to be perfect with my nutrition and fitness. ⁣
⁣
I was so hard on myself and probably the people around me. ⁣
⁣
The craziest thing 🤯 is I am human and not perfect. I learned from these times and found how to take that mindset away to start enjoying life (and food). ⁣
⁣
We sometimes get so stuck in the perfection of nutrition and fitness that we mentally miss out on important moments and relationships. ⁣
⁣

Be smart this thanksgiving...⁣

✔️Instead of skipping meals before Thanksgiving dinner, I encourage you to eat balanced meals. Even a smaller protein and fiber filled meal is better than nothing, so you aren’t starving at dinner. ⁣

✔️Eat a portion of your favorite foods instead of skipping them and being jealous of everyone that eats your favorites without a guilt. ⁣
⁣
✔️It is one meal, so just like every other special meal, you get back on track after you enjoy it!⁣

✔️Listen to your body’s cues when you are satisfied with the amount you consumed. Being tired after Thanksgiving dinner is not just from the tryptophan in the Turkey. It is from overeating, eating heavier foods and drinking more than usual. ⁣

When I used to look at menus I would only look at salads, chicken, and fish dishes. I would never pick a sandwich because of the carbs,filled with cheese, and sent with fries. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Here I am now, eating this delicious panini because I was craving it since the last time I had it. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I was able to listen to my body and after some appetizers (which is rare for us), I only ate half and a few fries. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I got to enjoy the other half for lunch the next day!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Most of the time I enjoy the salad more than other dishes on a menu, but now I listen to what my body is craving. I don’t over indulge, I again listen to my body when it is full. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣

Often times the struggle isn’t just the weekends, it is finding their balance that works for them throughout the week. Example: they can have pizza on a week day night and eat their healthy meals with a treat on the weekend. ⁣

They are so concerned about being “perfect” during the week to only going crazy on the weekends because “I get to treat myself.”⁣

Striving for perfection will lead to feelings of doubt and an all-or-nothing mindset. Strive for the balance!⁣

Listen to your body and not what your routine is. Craving pizza on a Wednesday, but can’t eat it until pizza Friday? How about listening to your body and enjoy the pizza on Wednesday so you don’t over indulge in it on Friday. Maybe Friday you pick the healthier dish instead. ⁣

I hear way too much from women, that have been on a low carb or keto diet in the past, that they shouldn’t eat fruit because of the sugar. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But, they continue to drink their simple sugar drinks, eat mostly take out or processed foods, and talk negative to themselves. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I teach you that you can have your 🍷 , maybe bring the portion down, but never have to eliminate it (obv if there is another issue going on but that’s not my scope). ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When we fill our body with whole foods, including fruit, you will benefit from:⁣⁣
🍒fiber⁣⁣
🍎fluid⁣⁣
🍊vitamins⁣⁣
🍍minerals ⁣⁣
🍉lower in calorie⁣⁣
🍌fills that sweet craving⁣⁣

Beach, Bryce, and Bagel made this weekend a much needed relaxing time. ⁣

I had a delicious bagel sandwich yesterday from @deadendbakehouse and played on the beach in my bathing suit top. This is something you wouldn’t find me do before. ⁣
⁣
I would never dare eat carbs before being in a bathing suit, let alone a whole bagel sandwich.
⁣
Now I feel at peace doing it and guess what... I enjoy every bite!⁣
⁣
Then I came home to homemade everything Greek yogurt bagels by my hubs (search bagel recipe on my blog). ⁣
⁣
This morning I had our homemade bagel 🤗. I enjoyed our homemade bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and spinach. ⁣
⁣
The difference is our bagels are like bagel thins and a lighter version. But, once in awhile you can have that regular bagel and feel fine about it!⁣
⁣
