You may want to start looking into what you consume before. ⁣

Pre-workout fuel should focus on higher carb as the workout gets closer. Your body takes a longer time to digest fats, proteins, and fibers. So these foods should be limited as workout gets closer. ⁣
⁣
If you aren’t eating enough, that could be an issue as well. Being well fueled for your workout can help you reach new personal records, decrease stomach discomfort, not have to run to the bathroom, and help you recover. ⁣

How do you approach this season? Is it something that you have little interest in or is it something you find you can’t keep in the house because you will eat all of them?⁣

I didn’t buy them for years because I was so restrictive and this year is different. What I come to find is that I no longer crave them like I once have. ⁣
⁣
My taste buds have changed. ⁣
⁣
I grew up on ice cream or cookies every night, we have a ‘sweet’ family on my mom’s side where my grand pop had dessert after every meal, and I grew up working in a bakery. Talk about sugaaaaa!🧁⁣

It is awesome being able to have these once-craved items that I may have binged on before and now I can walk past them and not eat any for days. Now, I eat 1 or 2 when my body wants it. ⁣

Some of you treat others better than you treat yourself. ⁣

For one, I was in that place for years. I love encouraging and motivating others to live their best and healthiest life, but I would go and beat myself up in the mirror or sabotage my body with bingeing or starving. Now, I treat my body the best I can because this is the only body I have for life and it is different than my friends and that is ok with me! ⁣

Second, I hear the comments all the time from my clients. Some comments they say about themselves I just want to jump through the screen and give them a hug. ⁣

I love working through ways we can love our bodies while not restricting your favorite foods so you don’t feel deprived to binge later or throw hateful comments at the person in the mirror. ⁣

Girl, you have so much potential. You have this one body for the rest of your life. If you love life, than start treating your body to live the longest and healthiest life you can in that body. ⁣

I have been there, I have said every excuse possible to my goals. I pictured when the perfect time would be. I have put the blame on others. I have used the lack of money as an excuse. ⁣⁣

Don’t let perfectionism push you back from starting your goals, it is just another form of procrastination. ⁣⁣

I can teach you how to eat healthy on the cheap and we look at what you are spending $ on now (coffee? Take out? smoking?). ⁣⁣

Soup can be a healthy side or dish if you make the correct decisions while making or choosing it. ⁣
👉🏼broth based⁣
👉🏼get a few servings of veggies⁣
👉🏼add protein (chicken, beef, lentils, beans, turkey, tofu)⁣
👉🏼limit the sodium (1 can can be 1/2 or more of your daily sodium)⁣
👉🏼don’t let the carbs take the show (make sure you have enough veggies and protein) ⁣

I can’t preach enough how taking care of your health can change so much more than just your weight, but also your energy, relationships, physical and emotional changes. When clients are learning this after a health scare or sick of living an unhealthy life for too long, they make small changes and always tell me they wish they did this years ago. ⁣

Don’t wait for that health scare or when your doctor tells you you need to take care of yourself. Each day you feed your body toxins or nutrients. Start feeding your body and soul right now, so you can enjoy life and stay out of the doctors (other than check ups)! ⁣

Back in your work routine and the sugar rush of the holidays are telling you to grab that 3 pm cookie or chocolate bar or high sugar coffee drink?⁣
⁣
You can listen to that voice once in awhile, but if it isn’t taking you toward your goals, it is time plan ahead!⁣
⁣
Here are 3 tips to prevent that 3 pm crash:⁣
𝟏. Your breakfast and lunch may be lacking in serving size, protein, fiber, veggies, and complex carbs. Many restrictive diets for the New Year may be telling you to eat that boring salad or smoothie... kick that restrictive diet to the curb!⁣
𝟐. If you want that chocolate chip cookie or chocolate, have 1-2 servings of the item ready and allow yourself to listen to your body and eat it. Also listen when your body is satisfied. ⁣
𝟑. Pack and plan a ‘fun’ snack to look forward to whether that be your dark chocolate squares with fruit, Greek yogurt with fruit, hummus with some chips and veggies. I always look forward to my banana post work and pre workout, just something that worked for me!⁣

Don’t buy into these quick fixes.

Every year I have my clients coming to me ready to change their whole eating habits in January to only go back to their old habits by March.

I love their January motivation and love working with my clients throughout the year to continue the motivation and hold them accountable.

Just a reminder, those quick fixes will have you stuck in a few months (if not weeks). Feeling lack of energy, out of money, miserable, and so restrictive that you can’t enjoy the little joys of life.
